We’ve got a busy weekend ahead sourcing food & beverages while watching football & futbol with the start of the 2022 Men’s World Cup (Game 1 is Sunday at 8am and the USA’s first game is Monday at 11am). So we are taking a few shortcuts in some of our meal preparations and wanted to share our local PDX favorites with you! The whole team has chimed in to offer what to get and where to get it to save everyone a little time. Happy Feasting!
Susie’s Picks: Gifts for the Host
If you’re attending a feast at someone else’s home and would like to start with a bang, you can’t go wrong with a bouquet of flowers. For the fancy route, Colibri is currently taking Thanksgiving orders. And for a more wallet-friendly alternative, Trader Joe’s always has a beautiful selection of bouquets & plant gifts.

Jamie’s Picks: Wine
Did you know that Jamie used to work in the Oregon wine biz? Here are her expert picks:
“In Oregon, we are lucky to have ideal conditions and soil types to produce fantastic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay… both of which pair fabulously with Thanksgiving feasts! For Thanksgiving 2022, I recommend…
Starting with bubbly! Try Argyle Sparkling Brut Rose Willamette Valley 2020. A blend of all three Champagne grapes, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Floral and bright with aromas of rose petal and clove and a supple structure.
When it’s time for dinner, I like to offer my guests red and white options.
White: Try Joseph Drouhin, Macon-Villages 2020 Chardonnay. Fruity and floral on the palate, mineral on the nose with a bright and fresh structure.
Red: Try Resonance Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2020, Owned by Burgundy producer, Louis Jadot, this wine features notes of blackberry and spice.
(All available at your local Fred Meyer)

Matt’s Picks: Seafood
Did you know Matt used to be a commercial fisherman? Here are his expert local favorites:
Flying Fish for Oysters and other fresh catches.

TwoXSea at Providore Fine Foods for Netarts oysters on the halfshell that pair nicely with pre-dinner drinks.
Pacific Seafood on Powell for fresh and prepped delights like Columbia River Steelhead Candied Strips

Kenai Red Fish Company. For fresh-caught salmon from this local family off Killingsworth, catch them at a Farmers Market near you!
