My adventures in northern Thailand recently led me to a fabulous Chiang Mai cooking school: Aroy Aroy.  The best teacher chefs in the world taught us how to concoct khao soi – the famous rice noodle soup – which happens to be my very favorite dish at Pok Pok  back in Portland. And the Pok Pok mastermind Andy Ricker supposedly spent a lot of time here in Chiang Mai so it’s thrilling to be at one of the sources of inspiration for this Portland institution! I cannot recommend Aroy Aroy enough if you ever find yourself traveling through this warm + wonderful country!
