Susie Knows Food Carts close to our listings! Food cart pods are a quintessential part of Portland’s culinary landscape, offering a diverse range of cuisines in a communal outdoor setting. Here are a few of my current favorites near neighborhoods the team and I have been spending lots of time in lately…
Southeast Portland, including Sellwood, has its fair share of these pods, often tucked away in parking lots or vacant spaces, bustling with locals and visitors alike. One of my favorite pods sits at SE 13th and Lexington (Sellwood Corner Food Carts) and boasts the most amazing duck curry and pad kee mao from Thida Thai. Another favorite pod-glomerate is at SE Tacoma next to the New Seasons (Piknik Park). The Jin Duck Korean Food Truck has mouth-watering chicken and kimchi fries.
After you are finished at the Sellwood food carts stroll by our townhouse located at 8480 SE 11th which will be open Saturday (4/6) 11:00 am -1:00 pm.

We also love grabbing a bite from the myriad food carts in St. Johns to bring for a picnic under the majestic St. Johns Bridge at Cathedral Park. Current cart faves in this pristine pocket of North Portland include:
- Chill N Fill (5215 N Lombard) Enjoy nine food carts with picnic tables and covered hangout space. Inside, there’s a huge selection of microbrews and cold drinks, big screen TVs for sports events, two pool tables and a full arcade, including pinball. Minors welcome!
- St. John’s Food & Beer Porch (7316 N Lombard St) 16 food trucks, 14 rotating taps (including kombucha), to-go growler options and plenty of vegan options.

For cold days in Northwest PDX my go-to is the Nob Hill Food Carts. They’ve expanded their covered seating along NW 23rd Place which is nice for bringing larger parties looking to savor ramen or sip a brew. I like fueling up here before or after a trail hike in nearby Forest Park.
If this Hike & Happy Hour combo is up your alley, check out our currently-listed nearby condo at 2241 NW Pettygrove St.

Happy Food Carting!
