The Lloyd District is a primarily commercial area bounded by the Willamette River to the west, NE Broadway to the north, the Sullivan’s Gulch Neighborhood (18th Ave) to the east and I-84 to the south. It’s home to the Convention Center, Lloyd Center mall and our beloved Trailblazers at the Moda Center. While many people work in Lloyd District, it’s increasingly becoming an easy area to live in since it’s a major hub of public transportation. Several bus, streetcar and Max lines pass through every hour and easily connect to all parts of the city. Perhaps the most exciting addition to the Lloyd District of late is the micro-neighborhood of Hassalo on Eighth. This eco-community comprised of three large buildings of green apartments complete with bike valet and doggie lounges has been rated both a Biker’s and Walker’s Paradise. Throw in the upcoming Green Zebra grocery and this is a dream neighborhood for the car-free lifestyle.
