We recently listed a lovely 2 bd condo in the NW District that is so close to so much! It’s situated in Slabtown – a northern residential/commercial subsection of the NW District that encompasses a fun swath of patio dining + shopping along NW 23rd and the surrounding area. (Its name comes from the “slabwood” lumber scraps back when there was a lumber mill on Northrup.) It’s an awesome location for car-free living with groceries at Food Front Co-Op, New Seasons and Trader Joe’s plus the streetcar looping through on Northrup and Lovejoy (which connects you to downtown AND the east side).
Here are some of our Slabtown favorites:
Wallace Park – Great for socially distant picnicking and giving your pup exercise at the dog run.
Besaws – Baked French Toast brunch on the patio! (Toffee sauce, cream cheese frosting, candied walnuts, YUM!)
Cinema 21 – Once it’s safe to return to the theaters, this is a fabulous art house (now with more than one screen) right on 21st Ave. Check out the visiting filmmaker screenings!
Breakside Brewery – Pretzel on the patio with your beverage of choice!
Dove Lewis ER & ICU Animal Hospital – An invaluable source of care for our animal friends for 45 years now.
Tara Thai – Pad See Ew on the Pat-i-o!
Check out a few more of our faves on the map!
