The Keep Portland Weird aesthetic is in full bloom during the 3 days of summer that are Last Thursdays on Alberta. This street fair is my favorite one in Portland (and that’s saying a lot!) because anyone can set up a booth/table/blanket (free of charge) and display their works of art (pottery, paintings, jewelry, etc) and people come out in droves. Musicians set up on the corners and play until dark.
You can snack-and-stroll or eat at any of the myriad restaurants on this foodie hotbed. I love the burritos at La Bonita, the bajillion taco options + Shanrock’s trivia night at Cruz Room, brunch at Tin Shed (bring your dog), and my favorite happy hour dish: the Northwest Philly Roll at Bamboo Sushi.
