As a Portland realtor, I’ve driven down NE MLK Blvd a thousand times. But I’ve never really realized what a bustling restaurant row it has become until recently! Sure, there’s the fabulous Toro Bravo and Russell Street Bar-B-Que near the Nike Factory Store, but as you keep going north more and more delicious destinations have sprung up.
My favorites:
Quick lunch: Falafel pitas at Cedo’s Falafel and Gyros
Fun snack: Alloco (fried plantains!) and ginger beer at Akadi PDX (West African cuisine)
Tasty dinner: Enchiladas at La Cocina
Foodie splurge: Pre-fixe monthly meal + wine pairings at Ned Ludd (new winery + menu each month!)
Vegan score: Vegan platter at Sengatera Ethiopian Restaurant
Divine breakfast sandwich: Bushel and Peck Bakeshop
Vintage imbibing: Rotating nightly DJs, kale tart + a rosemary-infused cocktail at Beech Street Parlor (a big ole house!)
