Situated in Portland’s southwest hills, Multnomah Village is a charming, little business district that runs for a few blocks along SW Capitol Highway. Lined with restaurants, bars and shops, it’s the heart of the Multnomah neighborhood, which is just southwest of Hillsdale and north of I-5 (which provides easy access to downtown.) Check out the Multnomah Village galleries on First Fridays and then grab a wood-fired pizza at Tastebud. Or step into Bavaria with the schnitzel at Otto and Anita’s. Down to Earth Cafe has plenty of vegan brunch options and if a patio is in your sights, pop down to the food carts on Multnomah Boulevard and treat yourself to the coconut shrimp and pho at Noy Viet Lao.
And if the First Friday art-viewing leaves you feeling inspired, there are lots of classes offered at the Multnomah Arts Center (pictured) for kids and adults alike. Photography, ceramics, painting, sculpture, and printmaking are just some of the activities there right now. What a resource!
