Susie and Matt Know Beaumont Village

Superbowl and V-Day tips ahead! Matt has a 1 Bed condo listing in his own Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood next week so we’re doing a neighborhood preview of Beaumont Village – the commercial district along NE Fremont lined with restaurants galore and sweet shops. Here are our picks for making Superbowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day a hit!

Superbowl Snacking: Dirty Lettuce. If you’re looking to avoid a group gathering but don’t want to miss out on the Superbowl gut-bust, look no further than Dirty Lettuce. Plant-based southern comfort food smothered in sauce. This place will blow your mind no matter what you get but our recent favorites are the fried chicken in sweet n spicy sauce with a side of cajun mac n cheese and slaw OR the Infamous Bowl with a heaping pillow of mashed potatoes topped with cajun corn, gravy and fried chicken nuggets. Wow wow wow, you will not believe this is all vegan. Portland feels like the center of the universe for plant-based delights and there couldn’t be a better one-dish spot for our national cheat day!

Valentine’s Gifting: The Arrangement. Here’s your V-Day one-stop shop for stationary, jewelry, candles, cookbooks, soaps n lotions, home decorations, you get the gist! This spot consistently offers a fabulous seasonal selection for gifting. And their February sale is 20% off jewelry for the whole month.

Superbowl OR Valentine’s Day: Pip’s Original Doughnuts & Chai. With their distinct bite-size shape, a sampler of Pip’s Doughnuts is the perfect sweet treat to bring to a gathering or surprise your Valentine. You can’t go wrong with a variety pack and don’t forget their tasty chai!
