Did you know that January is National Blood Donor Month? Though you may have noticed an influx of blood donation promotions for nearly the whole last year as the pandemic understandably decreased the amount of regular donors thus leaving us with a critical shortage. The OneBlood Mobile (on the east coast) was even giving away Christmas trees to various December donors!
And the promos continue today: The Red Cross is automatically entering January donors in a drawing to win 2 tickets to the 2022 Superbowl! And did you know that all blood donations are automatically tested for COVID-19 antibodies? (With results often being available within a few days!)
Blood donation can be truly daunting for those who haven’t done it before. Some people are squeamish, or prone to fainting or have a deathly fear of needles. But if that isn’t you, and you’ve maybe always meant to give donation a try, now couldn’t be a better time to help our community in critical need. Volunteers are also always welcome even if blood donation isn’t for you.
And if you or someone you know has fully recovered from COVID-19, your plasma could provide life-saving assistance for up to 4 coronavirus patients in need!

Stay safe, save lives and together we’ll get through this. And thank you to all of our frontline workers!
