Susie Knows Irvington

Stately colonial revivals, Craftsmans, and wide, bike-friendly, tree-covered streets abound in Northeast Portland’s Irvington. Platted in 1887, Irvington is one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Due to the large numbers of buildings erected during the building booms of the 1910s and 1920s, Irvington contains the largest, most intact collection of early twentieth century residential architecture found in Oregon.

While commercial development has been kept to a minimum to preserve property values, there are still plenty of restaurants + resources in close proximity:

  • Mojos Sushi
  • All Day Cafe
  • TwentySix Cafe
  • Albina Library
  • Irving Park (dog area, tennis, basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball)
  • Irvington Tennis Club
  • Lloyd Center
  • Toro Bravo
  • Broadway’s restaurant row
  • Hollywood District
  • Easy access to the interstate + downtown
  • Trimet stops along on 15th and 24th Aves

If you’d like to see Irvington in person, come by my Open House on Sunday (11/3) from 1:00 to 3:00. It’s a gorgeous, well-maintained Craftsman from the early 20th century building boom. Huge front porch hardwood floors, and a master suite on the main!
