No Christmas in Portland is complete without a stroll down the illuminated Peacock Lane in SE Portland. Cars are allowed starting the 18th but the best viewing is on the pedestrian-only nights between Dec 15 and 17th with a hot chocolate in tow! (Pictured)
Another favorite tradition of mine is sitting in the towering chapel at the Grotto (NE PDX) and listening to the angelic choirs, with a new group taking the stage every hour. (There’s a cute petting zoo and lights galore at the outdoor festivities, too.)
Finally, a nice warm option for freezing, rainy days is touring the ornate decor of Pittock Mansion. This year’s theme is “Hobbies and Pastimes” and volunteer decorators have done up rooms with themes like beekeeping and knitting.
Happy Holidays!
