Live classical music gives me goosebumps from the very first note. And Portland is a fabulous city for epic, outdoor concerts that are free to the public. The Portland Festival Symphony has delighted us for the past couple weeks at various parks with various ensembles (brass, strings)(pictured @Laurelhurst Park) but today is the big kahuna: The Annual Waterfront Concert by the Oregon Symphony. Opening acts start at 12:30pm and then the big guns (literally – there will be a cannon for Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture) take the stage at 7. Mozart, Puccini, Wagner and more! @Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
