Fremont Avenue is the main east-west artery of Alameda where a short walk east can land you in a Northeast restaurant hotbed with the likes of tapas at Smallwares or a pint at Alameda Brewing Co. Or stay right in the neighborhood for a wood-fired pizza at Lucca which attracts families in the earlier hours and couples later into the night. It’s located right next to the expansive Garden Fever for the greenthumbs. Grant Park’s playground, tennis court and track are a short walk away, too. Rather stay indoors? Alameda is a prime location for moviegoers as it’s right in a triangle of theaters old and new: The two cineplexes at Lloyd Center, the second-run Kennedy School to the northeast, and the historic Hollywood Theater to the south.
