Susie Knows NW 23rd Ave.

Who doesn’t love a street filled with a mecca of shops, food and good vibes? Those things are exactly what you will find on NW 23rd avenue. From high-end clothing stores to the simple consignments shops. The variety continues when looking for food selection. Great restaurants, including Portland’s famous #papahaydn, the incredible #bamboosushi (my favorite sushi in the city), and of course the one and only #salt&straw ice cream. A new Portland icon and a favorite to many Portland natives and visitors; where people wait for over a half an hour for a $5.00 scoop. The coffee shops are plentiful and cozy as well, settled away in houses with the comfort of couches to make it seem like you’re in your very own living room.

The people who walk the streets scream Portland and in this atmosphere who can’t help to love the uniqueness the street has to offer. For many Portland natives they have seen this street grow throughout the years. Always seeing new shops and restaurants pop up. The street continues to adapt to the Portland culture, but still somehow differentiates itself from a typical Portland street. Maybe it reminds some people of a main street in a small town or even a side street in Manhattan. Whatever it is it’s different and it’s a street people are drawn to.

Houses lie in between the crossroads. The neighborhood is filled with row houses to purchase or rent , condo buildings and many historic homes. Chapman elementary ranks as a top elementary school so this too is a desirable neighborhood to live in. Prices range from 250,000 for a small studio apt to 1.5 million for a beautiful historic home. Parking is a hot commodity so be prepared!
