Columbia River Gorge – A short drive away, this natural wonderland boasts waterfalls, epic hiking trails, and breathtaking viewpoints like Crown Point and Multnomah Falls. Leave the weekend waterfall crowds to the tourists, Greshamites can pop over any day of the week!

Mt. Hood Views – Gresham sits in the shadow of Oregon’s tallest peak, offering stunning views on clear days and easy access to year-round recreation, from hiking to skiing.

Sandy River Beach – Just minutes from town, this peaceful riverside retreat in Oxbow Regional Park is perfect for swimming, picnicking and soaking up the sun.

Sugarpine Drive-In – When you need a shade break from the Sandy River Beach, pop over to this beloved ice cream stand. They serve up incredible soft-serve sundaes (with plant-based options on the menu) in addition to mega-rich savory delights like Waffle Grilled Cheese and Mississippi Pulled Pork.

East County Pickleball Courts – I simply must explore the pickleball scene in every city I step foot in and I am so impressed by the current set-up here. 12 cushioned courts, temperature controlled, ample parking and these are the “Largest Indoor Courts in Oregon” as of 2024! (Doesn’t hurt to be only a 7 min drive from Sugarpine soft-serve, either!)

Gresham Japanese Garden – Right now, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, making this peaceful garden a must-visit for a tranquil springtime stroll. This is the time of the year to take part in the Yozakura – the nighttime viewing of the illuminated cherry blossoms. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy some live music by Oregon Koto Kai. (Now thru April 5th.) FREE and open daily from sunrise to sunset.
