Believe it or not, a few of you I know choose the latter so here’s a little PDX primer with something for everyone – whether you’re on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin, seeking a haunted house that will make your spine tingle, or both!
Pumpkin Patches for the Whole Family
1. Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch
• Location: 16511 NW Gillihan Rd, Portland, OR 97231
• What to Expect: A family-friendly favorite, the Sauvie Island Pumpkin Patch offers more than just pumpkins. There’s a corn maze, hayrides, an animal barn and a market where you can find fresh produce and treats. It’s a beautiful spot for picking out a pumpkin while enjoying the scenic views of Sauvie Island.
• Highlight: The Maize corn maze, redesigned each year, is a big hit for all ages!

• Location: 16205 NW Gillihan Rd, Portland, OR 97231
• What to Expect: Also located on Sauvie Island, Bella Organic is known for its organic produce and sustainable farming practices. In addition to a great pumpkin patch, the farm has a haunted corn maze after dark and a family-friendly version during the day. This year’s maze is dedicated to teachers & educators and all school staff in Oregon get in FREE (teachers, admin, other support staff with school ID).

• Highlight: Try some of their organic hot apple cider and explore the farm’s haunted corn maze if you’re up for a spooky twist.
• Location: 14601 Arndt Rd, Aurora, OR 97002
• What to Expect: Just a short drive from Portland, Fir Point Farms offers a six-acre pumpkin patch along with fun activities like pony rides, a petting zoo and a hay maze. Their famous donuts and apple cider are a must-try.
• Highlight: The beautiful farm setting makes for a picturesque day out, especially with fall photo ops around every corner.




Haunted Houses for a Frightful Night
1. The Fear PDX
• Location: 7701 NE Vancouver Plaza Dr, Vancouver, WA 98662
• What to Expect: Just across the river in Vancouver, The Fear PDX is one of the largest and most intense haunted houses in the area. With multiple attractions and a Hollywood-style approach to effects and design, it’s a thrilling, immersive experience.
• Highlight: Get ready for spine-tingling moments as you walk through haunted houses like “Toxic Carnage” and “Slasher Shed.”
• Location: Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 300 N Winning Way, Portland, OR 97227
• What to Expect: Located at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Underhill Haunted House offers a combination of themed haunted attractions and interactive experiences. It’s a central spot for Portland locals, making it easy to fit into a night out downtown.
• Highlight: The atmosphere and attention to detail make it one of the most immersive haunted house experiences in Portland. Plus, younger fear-seekers can check out the Kid’s Monster Fest coming up!
